Sedation Dentistry

Sedation dentistry is a term that is becoming more popular in modern dentistry. Sedation can come in many different forms ranging from local anesthesia, to conscious sedation methods, and to prescription medications such as Ativan.

There are many reasons why people will request sedation for their dental treatments. Some patients really do not like going to the dentist and have many reservations about undergoing routine treatments. Sedation offers these patients a way to help them relax for their procedure. In cases where extensive treatments are required, sedation can help the patient relax for longer periods of time, allowing the dentist to perform many more procedures in a treatment session. If you are interested in your options with sedation dentistry, our dentists will be happy to discuss your options and what might be best for you.
